Time fore tee

{Anyone pick up on the title reference?}

I love that golf is actually becoming a “cool” thing here on the web. With the U.S. open soon {& Lilly’s pattern inspired by it} and Kate Spade’s new “shop” dedicated to my favorite sport. I’ve golfed ever since I was little,then gave up on it when it was “uncool” {pointing my fingers at you 4th grade}. Now with all of my friends being “serious” with a sport {or two} I say why not to it. My dad and his dad are huge golfers so it is in my blood to love it. While it may not be the most completely “active” sport, I can still do it with my knee problem {i.e. it doesn’t have any running}. Also the high school I am probably going to has an amazing golf team {they were the conference champions this past year} so it gives me a somewhat goal.

A huge part of golf that I think annoys me is that it is primarily male dominant. Augusta, I’m looking at you. According to Get Golfing Girls  {super cool group by the way} “There are nearly 70,000 girls who play high school golf in the U.S.  Of those girls, only 12% go on to play college golf.  In 2009, of the estimated 1,800 girl’s golf scholarships available, more than 200 went unused.” & that’s a lot. Also I’ve been told many times that when you are interviewing/with a boss golf trips are slightly expected and that knowing is a valuable tool for networking. While I might not be “the best” or ever get offered a scholarship it is frustrating to see it underappreciated.

 Not to be frugal but the outfits are too cute and are just all around preppy! That’s always a plus right? {T.J. Maxx is my “go-to” for golf clothes, I just got a super cute coral windbreaker for $15!}.
