This is my first post in my styling tulle series! I’ll be posting different outfits of me styling this glitter tulle skirt, highly requested.

  {Confession: I feel like Sydney in this outfit!}

This post takes a lot of guts, a lot of guts. I’ve shared a lot of my life on the internet, but this part I’ve avoided.

I’ve subtly (very very subtly) dropped hints here & there about my knee problem. It was never something I wanted to weigh the people of the internet of. I’m not going to get into details but I have a condition in my knees that makes my knee cap not stay in place (Chrondomalacia if you would like to Google it).

I began to have this problem 5 years ago in the beginning of 3rd grade and have dealt with it ever since. Chrondomalacia is common in growing teenage girls but my case began when I was so young (I was 9!) and my case was severe. Because of the condition I basically gave up dance, soccer and some of the fun growing up things. I’ve never ice skated, rarely roller skated (it ended in tears), fully ran the mile run in gym class (once, and even then it ended in tears), I could never pass the swim test at sleep away camp, walking up steep stairs is hard, so hard that I had to take the elevator last year.

Surgery was talked about, until I stopped growing and now I’ve been told that I’ve stopped growing (but mayyybee one more inch, fingers crossed). So what does that mean? Surgery. The process would get me to correctly walk, “fixing” my knees.

I was hesitant at first like I am with most things regarding my knees because I’ve always had to be. My doctor told me it’s time for me to start living. Time for me to act like a crazy teen and not have to worry.  My right leg surgery was yesterday (Feb. 11th) and  the recovery time takes 2 months. (If you are curious what happened: Tibial Transfer & Lateral Release…. don’t look those up though… you don’t want to see pictures). Then I’ll have my left leg sometime in April with another 2 month recovery.

So here it goes, time for me to start living.
The next 5-ish months are going to be crazy, get ready?

xoxo

This post was long and all about my knees, but I thought you should know. I tell y’all everything and I figured it was better to get this out there before you see my OOTDS on crutches!
