While I am not Jewish, I was given the opportunity to go to my friends Bat Mitzvah {also could be spelled B’Not Mitzvah, but no one’s judging here} this past Sunday. It was my first one in attendance so I had no clue at all what to wear. After doing my research {a lot in fact} I wished someone had honestly sat down and written a post about the experience and what they wore, so I decided to do one of my own. While I know the majority of my readers are past their thirteen year, I hope this is helpful to someone out there!

Keep it classy, while in attendance I picked up on little things that just don’t look good. Please be quiet when anyone is speaking {addressing the group} formally, it’s just rude not to. Also Modesty is key while I don’t really have a problem in this area, I would advise you to not wear anything strapless or too short. I read while doing “research” that in some communities you should cover your collar bones. Even though I found out it wasn’t necessary where I was just be on the safe side.

What I Wore:

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer Mini Adeline Worth Blue Dot Dot Hop {in this post} Here/Shoes: White Jack Rogers Here/Bag: Shop Modern Monograms {in this post} Here/Pearl Bracelet: Came in huge stack from Forever21 Similar/ White Hair Bow: Simply Bows

I also wore a similar outfit to another friend’s party and on National Wear your Lilly day!

In general I would take the venue into consideration. The one I attended was in a semi-formal location {not too dressy but not too casual} which I thought was nice and relaxed but still everyone was dressed up. When in doubt be overdressed, it’s better than the alternative of being awkwardly under dressed and you’ll be the best dressed there.

Most importantly : Have fun and enjoy yourself! It’d be a shame not to!!
